Fourways, 19 June 2017 – Few female vocalists in South Africa know how to take lyrics written by someone else and make it work on a banging tune. Lyrics are very much important as the beat itself, however, others tend to master one than the other, very often that they master both. The songwriter writes a song and expect it to be delivered without distorting the meaning of the lyrics. When DJ maestro Rabs Vhafuwi invited Claudine Marshall to work on a beat, she wanted to make sure she delivers as the beat captured her soul. She called one of Rabs Vhafuwi’s writing geniuses named Mr Mo, who wrote Baleka and Healing on Hear Me Now, the latest offering by Rabs Vhafuwi.
Previously she has worked with high profile artists like Mandoza, Mandoza, Psyfo, Gimboss (985), Kage (985) and Proff . She has also opened shows for the likes of Black Motion and Kwesta. She has also written and recorded her own titled “Love in My Head”, which was produced by Grounded Oaks at Molimi Multi Media Studio.
All the tracks on this soulful album were written by Claudine. Claudine Mashall is a vivacious, multi-talented singer/songwriter from Johannesburg, South Africa. Affectionately known as “claud9”, Claudine captivates audiences with her remarkable ability to put a wide range of emotion and nuance into her songs.
She closely worked with Mr Mo, and the result came in a form on an exciting and eclectic song titled Guilty. Claudine Marshall is currently working on her debut album to be released later this year.
